The City is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Program which annually awards $4,000 in scholarships.
The scholarship program, made possible by a generous contribution from Vulcan Materials, was established to provide financial assistance to qualified Azusa residents who pursue post-secondary education. The scholarship program is open to high school seniors and adults to offset the cost of higher education. The program allocation is divided into two categories: One for high school seniors and one for adult applicants. Each category will be awarded two $500 scholarships and one $1,000 scholarship.
Eligible applicants must be Azusa residents for at least one year and are first time students with no previous college credit. Other requirements for consideration are: A minimum grade point average of 2.75, demonstrated leadership in their school or in the community, acceptance to an accredited college, university or trade school and financial need.
The deadline to apply for the program is March 15, 2018.
